CleanStart Dietary and Detoxifying Program

Every spring and fall I like to do a cleanse.  I have two that I rely on annually, one easy one and one deep cleanse.  This is the easy one.

Road ID

"When you can't speak, Road ID will speak for you" is a pretty convincing reason to wear ID for those who run alone. For my birthday I got Road ID as a gift.  I logged on and was walked though a lengthy registration process.  This process collected much more data than I was comfortable sharing,

Dual Ionic Ion Detox Aqua Foot Spa Chi Cleanse Machine with MP3 Music Player

I brought my mom to the local wellness center and she tried this cool foot detox bath that claims to pull toxins from you feet, after the treatment ($35) she was practically floating through the store saying how wonderful she felt.  Imagine my surprise when...

HEB Zusma Energy Tea

Wow, an energy drink made with Agave and Pure Cane Sugar?

Mary Kay Timewise Replenishing Serum +C

I love this stuff.  It works.  It is also the only rating so far to receive, not one but, two Penalty points.

Smart Balance Heart Right Fat Free Milk

I know milk is not sexy but it's a staple in most houses, including mine. For years I struggled to get my family from whole milk to low fat and then, with swords drawn, to fat free.  It was a battle.  We do not need to add any fat to our diet when there is a good fat free alternative out there with the same (or better) health benefits.  I had all but given up the fight on this one until I tried Smart Balance Heart Right Fat Free Milk. Where to start on my review... do I start with the great creamy taste of this milk and skip the fact that humans are the only species to drink another species milk? Or do I start with their pledge to use cows not treated

Experia Running Socks

I have never spent $14.00 on running socks before.  I have never spent $14.00 on ANY socks. I only had one nice pair of $9 running socks, which were dirty.  I was sick and tired of the other socks slipping down into my shoes when I was running so I broke down and bought them.

Garneau HeatMaXX Arm Warmers

When I woke up this morning it was 24 degrees.  I remembered my flash of brilliance earlier in the summer and bought some HeatMaXX arm warmers on sales even though it was 105 degrees outside.  These arm warmers go from your bicept to your wrist and are held up with an elastic band at the top.  They are lined with a thin fleece.  The outside is a knit with SPF50 (who knew knit could have an SPF rating!).  At full price these $19.99 arm warmers kept my arms...

Whole Foods Market - Breakfast Tacos

In the past few years, after a run around the lake with my friend, we have visited Whole Foods Market for breakfast tacos.  The place is full of Saturday morning coffee drinkers, cyclists, runners and granola types shopping with their reusable bags. Me, I  have the breakfast tacos.  These tacos are all custom made.  After standing in a long line (not because they are slow, but because there are so many people with taco envy) you can choose from 3 kinds of tortillas, various meats, even meat substitutes for the veggie's like me.  Then you add cheese or vegan cheese and fresh organic fixin's like cilantro, tomato, onion and house made salsa.   One of the best parts is

Immaculate Baking Company - Wild Blueberry Scones

As I was shopping yesterday, hungry (always a mistake), I stumbled on these blueberry scones in the refrigerator section of HEB. I grabbed a can and made them for the family this morning.  They started smelling good about 10 minutes in and by 18 minutes I was standing at the oven ready to eat a fresh-from-the-oven scone. The packaging clearly stated "No Artificial Ingredients" and "No Hydrogenated Oils", always a plus.  It does contain palm fruit oil and canola oil which likely are responsible for the 6g of saturated fat and 200 calories per scone.
